When I read this article“The Tell Tale Heart” in class, I noticed that there were many sentences in the whole article, mostly short sentences, and the tenses of the sentences were in the past tense. I think this is the basic feature of the narrative article.
In the whole article, the author wrote the article as a story, with the beginning, the climax and the turn, so that people want to continue reading when they want to know what happened. Short sentences are more characteristic of the character. The author also describes the protagonist’s psychological thoughts.
In my I-search, I think we can use narrative writing, because it can attract readers. Whether it is the first part or the second part, for example, in the first part I can use narrative writing to write why I want to study this problem. In the second part, I can write about what happened when I explored my research, in addition to what opinions I learned, I can also describe what happened when I searched for answers or interviewed professionals. How do I feel when I know these ideas, because in the process of my exploration, I do not know the result, when I know the result, will I have new questions.
I think for beginners, narrative writing is a good way to improve their writing skills, because just like telling stories in language, it not only improves language, but also greatly improves writing skills. In my I-search, I will appropriately use narrative techniques on the basis of requirements, which will make my article appear more mature.
